Add to your wishlist from any website
Found something you want? Add it to your WishFinch list straight from the store's page, without copying and pasting the link. No extension to install and no account, and it's free.
Pick your device: computer, iPhone or iPad, Android.
On a computer: the bookmark button (bookmarklet)
A bookmarklet is a bookmark that works like a button. This one works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari.
Drag the button to your bookmarks bar instead of clicking it.
- Drag the button above to your bookmarks bar.
- Open a product page in any store and click "Add to WishFinch" on the bar.
- WishFinch opens your list with the link already filled in. If you have more than one list in this browser, pick one first. Then click "Add to list". WishFinch fills in the name, picture and price when the store's page provides them.
Don't see the bookmarks bar? Press Ctrl+Shift+B (Cmd+Shift+B on a Mac) in Chrome, Edge or Firefox. Edge calls it the favorites bar. In Safari, it's the Favorites Bar: choose View, then Show Favorites Bar.
A few stores block bookmark buttons in Safari. If nothing happens when you click it, copy the page's address and paste it into your list.
The button only sends us the address of the page you're on. It doesn't read the page or anything else in your browser.
On an iPhone or iPad: a Share menu shortcut
Set it up once in Apple's Shortcuts app. After that, "Add to WishFinch" shows up when you tap Share in Safari or in a store's app. Scroll down past the app icons to find it.
- Open the Shortcuts app and tap + to make a new shortcut. Name it "Add to WishFinch".
- Tap the info button (Details) and turn on "Show in Share Sheet".
- Tap "Add Action", search for "Get URLs from Input" and tap it. Make sure its input is "Shortcut Input".
- Add the "Get Item from List" action and keep "First Item". Some apps share more than one link, and this keeps the first.
- Add the "URL Encode" action. Make sure it encodes the "Item from List" from the step before.
- Add the "Text" action. Paste the address below into its box:
Then, right after the address with no space, tap "URL Encoded Text" above the keyboard to insert it.
- Add the "Open URLs" action. It should open the "Text" from the step before.
The shortcut opens WishFinch in your default browser, usually Safari. That browser needs to know your list:
- If you made the list in that browser, you're all set.
- If you made it on another device, or in the WishFinch app on your Home Screen, open your list's private link in that browser once.
- If the browser doesn't know any of your lists, WishFinch starts a new one with the item.
You can also add the bookmark button to Safari on an iPhone. Bookmark any page (Share, then Add Bookmark). Open your bookmarks, tap Edit, open the new bookmark and replace its address with the text below. It looks like code, and that's normal. To use it, open a product page, then tap the bookmark.
On Android: the Share menu
Open WishFinch in Chrome, tap the three-dot menu, then Install app (or Add to Home screen, then Install). Choose Install, not Create shortcut. After that, WishFinch shows up in the Share menu in Chrome and in store apps.
