WishFinch

Privacy

WishFinch has no accounts. Here is what it keeps.

Your lists

The list name, the name you typed for the owner (if any), and each wish: its name, price, note, link and a small copy of the product picture. We also keep when each list was created and changed, and when its shared page was last opened. Lists aren't published anywhere or shown to search engines. Only people with a link can open them.

Reservations

We store which items are reserved and when. On a child's list, we also store the giver's name if they choose to leave one. A giver's browser keeps a key in a cookie so the same browser can undo its reservation. The owner's edit page doesn't show reservations, except on a child's list, where it shows what's reserved and any names givers left. The shared page never shows reservations in a browser where the owner has opened the list.

Secret Santa

For a draw we keep its name, the names the organizer typed, the pairs to keep apart, the budget and the date, who drew whom, which names have been picked or reopened and when, and which wishlist each person linked. A repeat draw remembers the draw it repeats. The organizer's page never shows who drew whom. Each person's page shows only their own match.

Cookies

Up to four cookies, all needed for the site to work: they remember the lists made in your browser, the Secret Santa draws you organize and the names you picked (so My lists can show them), and your reservations (so you can undo them). No advertising cookies.

Email

If you ask us to email you a link to your list or Secret Santa page, we send that one email and don't save the address. Our mail service keeps delivery records, including the address and the email, for up to 30 days.

Addresses

WishFinch never asks for a home or shipping address.

Statistics

We count page visits with a privacy-friendly analytics tool that uses no cookies. List pages aren't counted.

Logs

Error reports and server logs may include technical details of a request, such as your IP address.

Deleting

Delete a list from its edit page, and it is gone, with its items and reservations. The organizer can delete a draw from its organizer page; wishlists people made for it stay theirs.
